How to join a ‘Scatter Group’

Scatter Groups – grow with others

  • This group meets in one of the rooms of our church building, and is a casual group with adults and children. The group start to gather from 10am and share a cuppa, then start the group at 10:30am.

  • This group meets on Sundays from 12noon in the home of one of its members (moving from week to week) and normally includes lunch together. It is a friendly group with adults and children. If you’d like to explore it, use the simple form below to make contact and we can share details with you.

  • This group meets in the week, and the normal is 6pm on a Monday at The Abbey pub in Woodseats. Sometimes, depending on work shifts, we move to breakfast together instead and meet in a diffierent location. We open the Bible and talk together, sharing in each other’s lives. Everyone is welcome!

The weekly gatherings of our church happen in different places and at different times. At the moment, we have three groups, and here are some details:

If you would like to know more about any of these groups or are interested in joining one of them, let us know using this form at the bottom of the page.

What to expect?

The groups are all a little different, and week-to-week might have a different theme, but some things you can expect are:

  • A warm welcome! We love meeting new people.

  • To grow in relationship. We put relationships at the centre of what we do.

  • A ‘Three Thirds’ Structure. The normal structure is that we LOOK BACK at our weeks to ask how things have been going, LOOK UP to God in worship and in the Bible, and then LOOK FORWARD to the coming week and plan how we’ll put things into action.

  • To discuss the Bible together. Normally there will be one part we look at, and we explore it together. No-one is expected to be an expert or to answer things they are not able to, but everyone’s contribution is valued.

  • To worship God and pray. This might look like singing or other things, and there is always a time to pray together.

  • To share communion. Not every week, but we will regularly share in bread and wine/juice. Nobody is forced to join in, but everyone is invited to reflect on what it symbolises for themselves.

If you want to understand more before coming along, we’d be glad to talk to you! So use the form below and we can be in touch.

Our Scatter Groups are open to all, so if you would like to join in or talk to someone, use this form and we can get in touch to help you.
